A Hot One and Happy Father's Day!

Last night we went to a friend's wedding......outside in Alabama in June and might I add it was extremely hot and humid. I was sweating all night! Here are a couple of pictures.

Also I hope everyone had a great Father's Day. We went and saw my Dad last weekend and laid out and swam in their pool!

Seriously I Just Want Some Shutters!

I will give ya'll the short run down on this. We are trying to find shutters for the house. Seems simple. But no one has 4 sets and we have been to a couple of places and one one place twice this weekend looking for the size and color we need. I am now having to drive to Phenix City to get them. Please let them still have 4 sets when I get there! We have been wanting to get this done and now that we have company coming we are trying to accomplish this goal!

Update: I was able to find them and Cas was off one day this week and he put them up! It looks much better!

Wordless Wednesday

Possum laying on the Wii Fit board. Maybe he is concerned about gaining weight??

Summer Swing'n

Every summer Opelika has the "Summer Swing" concert series on Tuesday nights in the park. We have talked about going for years but Cas's work schedule at the time has not permitted it. We had plans to go last Tuesday night to see a Neil Diamond tribute band but Cas was not able to leave work. So I made sure he got out on time so we could go last night. Maggie was able to go with us so that thrilled her. She gets ALOT of attention from children when we take her places. We took our blanket and just laid on it and listened to the band. They played a little bit of everything. We also ate dinner out there on our picnic blanket. We are hoping to make it to a few more this summer it is a great thing to go and do and it is FREE!"Daddy do you hear the music?....Do ya?
Another attempt of us having to take our own picture.

Date Night and Digging

We didn't have much planned for the weekend other than the typical yard work and I wanted to go check out something we had found out about during our Easter Brunch at Arricia's. It is called "Simply Sinful Saturdays". I really should not have to point out the fact that it was yummy just by the name.
"Ariccia's Chocolate Bar is a luscious treat with 20 varieties of chocolate-infused desserts changing weekly as our pastry chef pulls out all the stops for a truly decadent dessert experience"
That is their description and it says they change things up so an even better reason that we have to go back. I rented some movies for us to watch while I was out running errands Saturday morning.......after my yard selling. I left the house at 6am and found a few cute things. This is the only thing that would ever get me out of bed that early! We watched Marley and Me finally and I CRIED!!!!!! Maggie was watching with us and I just held her while I BooHood! I can't imagine us not having her. She is part of the family. She is treated just like a child.
We worked in the yard some Saturday, it took Cas most of the day to cut the grass.....maybe one day a riding lawn mover will be in the budget! We went and picked up a few necessities at Home Depot Sunday and I planted a few things and we worked on our ever going battle with Honey Suckle! Every time we turn around it has taken over something. I also picked up the paint for the laundry room so that I can get started on that this week.
Have a good week!

All Good Things Must Come to and End......

Well folks I am having to say "Good-Bye." It has been well documented here and here how I love these. I had been holding on to this last bag of my favorite, scrumptious, most delicious little goodies! I had been putting off opening them as it would be the last of them until next Easter! I broke down this week as I was needing something sweet one night. I couldn't hold off any longer. I even had a friend over a few weeks ago that was eyeing them.....sorry no can do sister! Back away from my eggs! Until the Easter Bunny comes hopping through again.....farewell, farewell.

We Wii

Ha....that is French for we bought a Wii! We had looked at them and decided not to get one. Well then we started hearing and reading about everyone that was using them to lose weight with the Wii Fit. That is why we were looking at them in the 1st place was for the Wii Fit. Cas said he had talked himself back into so we went by and got it last night. We got the Wii, Wii Fit and another exercise program for it. We have not had time to hook it up yet but I think it will be fun and an alternative to getting outside it the 95* heat. Plus this does a whole lot more than just walking would do. We are going to get Jillian's (from the Biggest Loser) workout program for it as well. Hope this is fun......other than the fact that is shows your weight on the screen from what I hear. Cas will have to leave the room!

Ticked Off On A Tuesday

I was laying in bed this morning with Maggie watching the Today Show as we do every morning until I get up to get ready for work. I was bothered by the phone ringing. It was Cas.....who had already left for work.....calling to inform me that our mailbox had been knocked over for the 2ND TIME!!!! Oh I was not happy. I off course gave the standard "I hate this place" comment. That would be the same comment that I made last night as we were coming home and someone almost hit us because they were not paying attention. They were driving right towards me. So as you can read people around our house CAN NOT DRIVE. Last time they hit our mail box they knocked the post clean out of the ground and busted it up and you could see paint on it...Good, they shouldn't have stayed on the road. They could have left a note or something! This time they have hit it right in the middle and the bottom of the post is still in concrete in the ground. So I am not sure if it was a car or a human! Regardless is ticks me off. I do love going to Home Depot but I like to buy fun stuff. It is not going to be fun to buy a 3RD mailbox post!!!! Coincidentally we have a Home Depot trip planned for Saturday morning but it wasn't going to be for this. So now we won't get mail until we put it back up and they were very rude last time as if it was our fault. I hope this is not a sign of a bad day.
